I still remember the first event I ever planned. I was seven years old and wanted to give my mom the best birthday gift she could ever dream of - a surprise party! Of course, I was planning this for my mom who doesn’t love parties or being the center of attention, but I just knew it was the perfect gift that I, her social and always planning daughter, could give her.
So I went about crafting and hand delivering invitations to all of my neighbors, with special instructions on when to arrive to my family’s backyard patio. I casually asked my dad to purchase a larger than normal cake for our family of four and did a double take to ensure the garage fridge was fully stocked with plenty of drink options. I snuck into the closet filled with gift bags and tissue to scrounge up a few party balloons to blow up. And voilá - I had the guest list, catering, and decor covered for my first event.
You could say I’ve had a knack for organizing life’s big moments for a while now.
Today, I continue to get to do what I love and enjoy most - plan big moments - for others!
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2019, I jumped into the world of experiential marketing at GMR Marketing, a global experiential marketing agency. There, I help to plan and execute a mobile tour for Comcast that toured the U.S. From helping manage two tour teams to building out a photo op of Michael Scott’s office from “The Office,” I had a crash-course in large-scale event planning and management.
Next, I worked with the team at NEWaukee, a Milwaukee-based marketing and engagement agency, to help bring NEW to a roster of local and national clients. At NEWaukee, I learned the importance of building a community and how that translates to successful event marketing and experience planning.
Currently, I work as an Events Manager for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), planning state-wide conferences and global trade ventures for the state of Wisconsin.
All these experiences have primed and led me to where I am now.
I’m excited to hone my event planning skills and help a new set of clients create some of life’s most memorable moments via Moments by Motto.
A little bit more about me…
I am professionally trained and certified in Wedding & Event Planning, and Event Design by the Certified Wedding Planner Society.
I am heavily involved in soccer - not only do I coach a youth club team at Milwaukee Kickers and coach for Wisconsin’s Olympic Development Program, but I also play a couple nights a week on a few co-ed teams, too!
I absolutely love to travel. I studied abroad in London in college and have had the travel bug ever since. My favorite places include London, Florence, and anywhere in Ireland.
